- Tim Brown reports that Jeff Weaver has signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They also signed Alferdo Amezaga to a minor league deal with incentives, according to Ken Rosenthal.
- The Marlins are interest in free agent first baseman Russell Branyan according to the Miami Harold. The Marlins have no made an offer yet and with Gaby Sanchez at first, Branyan would have to be willing to except a platoon role or a spot on the bench.
- Ex-Met great Timo Perez signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers.
- Another ex-Met great Guillermo Mota was signed to a minor league contract by the Giants, reports Andrew Baggarly. Ahhh… memories.
- Dan Hayes reports that 8-10 teams are interested in the services of veteran outfielder Brian Giles.
