After Jose Reyes smacked his first home run of the year, Mets announcer Gary Cohen said emphatically, "he's back!"
We can only hope so Gary… we can only hope so. It certainly looks like Reyes is starting to come around. During this four game winning streak for the Mets, Reyes has gone nine for his last 19, with one home run, three RBI, and two stolen bases.
When Reyes performs well, the Mets usually win. When Reyes has a multi-hit game, the Mets are 10-4. When Reyes drives in a run, the Mets are 8-5. When Reyes steals a base, the Mets are 7-2.
For the sake of the Mets, we can only hope Reyes stays hot and that he is indeed back. If the Mets want to be successful at all this season they need the old Reyes back. From the looks of things the past few games, it appears that he is.
