Here is some quick news for the Mets and around the league:
- David Wright has been named NL Player of the Month for the the month of June. He hit .404, .447 OBP, .683 SLG, with 11 doubles, six home runs, 29 RBI and stole four bases. His strike out rates also dropped from May, going from 39 K's to 25. The last time Wright received this honor was back in June of 2006.
- Mark Sheldon reports that Aaron Harang is moving around better, but no decision has been made on whether he'll start tonight or not. The left hander Matt Maloney would start in place of Harang if he is unable to go. Maloney would be on full rest, unlike Travis Wood, who pitched last night on three days rest.
- For the first time in a long time the Mets line-up for tonight's game is at full strength. Reyes – Pagan – Wright – Davis – Bay – Francoeur – Barajas – Tejada – Santana.
- Kevin Millwood gave up five runs in one inning of work in last night's game, and afterwards was placed on the DL. As a result, Millwood is off the trade block and the Baltimore Orioles will not look to deal him.
- Ed Price reports that teams are still waiting to hear back from the Seattle Mariners on who they want for Cliff Lee.
- Matt Gelb reports that the Philadelphia Phillies have sent J.A. Happ down to Triple-A.
