Written by Drucifer at 18:18 PM, July 30th, 2011

New York Mets

@

Washington Nationals

Nationals Park
Nationals Park

Friday, July 29th, 7:05 PM EDT
Nationals Park

Dillon Gee, RH (9-3, 3.75)

Chien-Ming Wang, RH (_-_, _.__)

Scouting Report:

METS: Gee labored through five innings in a no-decision his last time out. He allowed three runs on seven hits, including a solo homer to Mike Stanton. He is 2-0 with a 0.61 ERA in two career starts against the Nats.

NATIONALS: Wang will be activated from the disabled list for the start against the Mets. It will be his first big league appearance since 2009, when he was with the Yankees, after missing two seasons because of shoulder problems.

Saturday, July 30th, 7:05 PM EDT
Nationals Park

R.A. Dickey, RH (5-8, 3.74)

Yunesky Maya, RH (0-1, 6.86)

Scouting Report:

METS: Featuring what he called one of his better knuckleballs, Dickey allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings Monday to win for the first time since June. The Mets have won six of his last seven starts, with Dickey lasting at least 6 1/3 innings in six of them.

NATIONALS: Yunesky Maya gets call to start as Jason Marquis is traded just before game time.

Sunday, July 31st, 1:35 PM EDT
Nationals Park

Jonathon Niese, LH (10-8, 3.97)

Jordan Zimmermann, RH (6-9, 3.27)

Scouting Report:

METS: Beating the Reds last Tuesday in Cincinnati, Niese set a new career high with 10 victories, a personal goal he was unable to reach last season. The left-hander now has two months to extend that mark, beginning Sunday against the Nationals.

NATIONALS: On Tuesday, Zimmermann had his second consecutive subpar outing, allowing six runs in 6 2/3 innings, and it proved costly in the Nationals' 11-2 loss to the Marlins.
