Tim Stauffer, RH (7-8, 2.96) |
Mike Pelfrey, RH (6-9, 4.48) |
Scouting Report:
PADRES: Stauffer has pitched well this season. The right-hander is 6-4 with a 1.97 ERA in his last 11 starts, holding opposing hitters to a .227 batting average in that stretch. In his last start, Stauffer pitched 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball.
METS: Pushed back a day in the rotation due to Wednesday's rainout, Pelfrey will escape the division-rival Braves, instead pitching Monday against the Padres — a team he held to two runs over a combined 17 innings in two starts last season.
| Tuesday, 9th August, 7:10 PM EDT Citi Field |
Wade LeBlanc, LH (0-2, 4.98) |
Chris Capuano, LH (9-10, 4.44) |
Scouting Report:
PADRES: With Dustin Moseley (labrum surgery, non-throwing shoulder) done for the season, LeBlanc will be added to the roster. He allowed three runs in six innings the last time he filled in for Moseley on July 31 with six strikeouts.
METS: Capuano nearly became the third Mets pitcher to reach double-digit victories, holding the Marlins to two runs over six innings last Tuesday before a blown save cost him the win. The left-hander will instead look for his 10th win against the Padres.
| Wednesday, 10th August, 7:10 PM EDT Citi Field |
Aaron Harang, RH (10-3, 3.91) |
R.A. Dickey, RH (5-10, 3.72) |
Scouting Report:
PADRES: Harang picked up his team-leading 10th victory in his last start, though he had to sweat a little to do it. Harang allowed four runs on 13 hits in five innings in a game where the Padres backed him with 15 runs.
METS: In what seems to be becoming a trend, Dickey pitched well Friday against the Braves, but was handed a loss despite giving up just two runs in seven innings. Of his 10 losses this season, five have come during quality starts.
| Thursday, 11th August, 11:10 PM EDT Citi Field |
Cory Luebke, LH (4-6, 3.06) |
Jonathon Niese, LH (11-8, 4.12) |
Scouting Report:
PADRES: Luebke snapped a three-game losing skid by allowing one run on five hits over seven inning in his last start against the Pirates. Luebke struck out a career-high nine batters in the game with no walks.
METS: Niese might have had himself a nice outing were it not for the five runs the Braves scored against him in the third inning Saturday night. He didn't give up a run in the other four innings, but hasn't made it through six in his past three starts.
