  • Mets at a Glance – The Mets have won two games in a row and three of their last four games… The Mets are 4-6 in their last 10 games and 12-12 since the All-Star break.
  • Series History  – New York has lost the season series to the Padres in each of the last three years and since 2000 the Mets have won the season series twice (2005, 2006)… Since 2005, the Mets are 14-5 vs. San Diego at home… The Mets travel to San Diego, August 15-17, to take on the Padres.

  • '65 Was the Last Time – According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time the Mets won consecutive games and overcame a two run or greater deficit in the eighth inning or later in each contest was April 23-24, 1965 at San Francisco… The only other time it’s happened in franchise history was May 19-20, 1962 at Milwaukee … The Mets trailed the Giants, 8-2, heading to the eighth on April 23, 1965 before scoring two in the eighth, four in the ninth and one in the 11th inning for an 9-8, 11-inning win… On April 24, the Giants scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to grab a 6-4 lead but the Mets responded with three runs in the ninth to win 7-6… New York trailed 8-4 heading to the eighth inning on Monday night and was trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth last night.
  • Comebacks – For the second straight night, the Mets recorded a come-from-behind victory… New York has 25 comeback wins this year and 11 wins in their last at-bat… Last year, the Mets had 16 wins in their last at-bat and 21 comeback victories.
  • Bases Loaded – Nick Evans hit a sacrifice fly and Ruben Tejada  drew a walk with the bases loaded last night…  The Mets are hitting .314 (33-105) with the bases full this year, ranking seventh in the majors… The Mets have 87 RBI with the bases loaded, the second most in the National League and the fourth-most in the majors.
  • Home Runs – With Angel Pagan’s home run last night, the Mets have hit 13 home runs in their last eight games… New York has collected multiple home runs in four of their last eight games… The Mets are tied for fifth in the majors with 11 home runs this month…Overall, New Yorks rank 22nd in the majors with 81 home runs.
  • David Wright – Went 1-3 with a run scored last night… Wright has six RBI in his last six games and is batting .366 (26-71) since returning from the Disabled List on July 22…In 17 games since his return, Wright has five doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI… He has at least one hit in 14 of these 17 games… His 18 RBI since July 22 is tied for the second-most in the National League….. Wright has 2,045 total bases and ranks second in franchise history, just two total bases behind Ed Kranepool (2,047).
  • Jason Bay – Extended his hitting streak to 11 games last night, equaling his longest as a member of the Mets…Bay hit in 11 games from May 7-17, 2010… Bay is hitting .439 (18-41) with nine runs scored, three home runs and nine RBI during this stretch… His career best is a 14-game hitting streak from September 8-21, 2005… Bay has 12 RBI in his last 15 contests.
  • Angel Pagan – Hit a solo home run last night after hitting a leadoff home run Monday night… It marks the second time in Pagan’s career he’s hit home runs in consecutive games… He also accomplished the feat on July 20-21, 2010 at Arizona. 
  • Lucas Duda – Collected two hits last night… Duda is batting .381 (8-21) with one home run and five RBI in the month of August.
  • Ruben Tejada – Drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning last night… Tejada is 2-5 (.400) with two walks and seven RBI this year with the bases loaded.
  • Bullpen – The pen tossed 3.0 shutout innings last night has allowed at least one run in 10 of its last 12 games… During that period, the pen has a 5.61 ERA (21 ER/33.2 IP)…. The pen has allowed 35 home runs, tied for the 9th most in the majors.
  • Jason Isringhausen – Worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 299th career save last night… Isringhausen is six for his last seven in save chances and is one save shy of becoming the 23rd major league pitcher to reach the 300 save plateau… Billy Wagner and John Franco each registered their 300th save as a member of the Mets… Wagner earned his 300th save on July 4, 2006 vs. Pittsburgh in a 7-6 victory… Franco closed out the Montreal Expos on April 29, 1996 in a 3-2 victory for his 300th save… Cincinnati’s Francisco Cordero was the last pitcher to reach the 300 save milestone… Cordero did it on June 1 earlier this year vs. Milwaukee in a 4-3 win.
  • R.A.Dickey – Has never faced San Diego…. In his last start, Dickey received the loss in a 4-1 defeat vs. Atlanta on August 5… Tossed 7.0 innings and allowed two runs, earned… Also allowed five hits… Recorded five strikeouts and threw 98 pitches, 64 for strikes… Dickey did not issue a walk for the fourth time this season, as a starter, and for only the second time this season he had a start which he did not allow a walk and a home run… The Mets are 6-3 in Dickey’s last nine starts despite his record being only 2-3… Dickey has three straight quality starts, tying his longest stretch of the season (May 31 – June 11).
