@  Drucifer : (27 Jul 2015 - 20:20)

And it look like a Cub SS is on the move

@  Drucifer : (27 Jul 2015 - 20:14)

Someone on the ;mets; must love Alex, as I have his ass taking a bullet a couple of times already.

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 19:28)

In a perfect world, Alex Torres would be gone. I have no idea what they are going to do.

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 19:17)

is either Mejia or Parnell going to get traded to free up space? Parnell is unreliable, and Mejia is ineligible for the playoffs (with Sandy sounding pretty perturbed when Mejia got suspended)...

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 19:16)

thing is, who really deserves to get sent down? Robbles/Verrett have pitched pretty well...Gilmartin is lost if he is shipped out & has pitched pretty decent when allowed to pitch every once in a blue moon...and TC has the same wet dreams about the Torres brothers that he has for Tejada, so both of those guys are probably safe...

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 19:11)

I really hate the 25 man roster concept...Instead of waiting until September 1st to increase the rosters, they should move that up to the trade deadline...or at least allow it to go up to 27-30 players for August...and then can increase again in September

@  Drucifer : (27 Jul 2015 - 18:31)

There's going to be a lot of roster shuffling soon. Someone still has to move off the 25. Probably Verritt, but that only last until Niese returns. Goeddel gets move to the 60 on the day he start his rehab assignment.

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 18:13)

not a bad deal...

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:39)

Official according to mlb.com http://m.mlb.com/new...ticle/139065222

@  Drucifer : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:35)

Michael Baron ‏@michaelgbaron
To make room for Clippard on the active roster, #mets move Goedell to the 60-day DL. #Mets got $$ in this deal.

@  METSFRONTOFFICE : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:28)

Need 1 more solid bat.

@  METSFRONTOFFICE : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:28)

Yup traded for the Mets 15th ranked prospect some single A pitcher

@  METS FANG : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:25)

clippard official or so I'm told

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:17)

His periphreals are concerning as yogi posted earlier.

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 17:15)

as long as the price isn't extreme, I would have no issues with Clippard...would he cost much more than a Mejia or a Parnell? both are under control closer types that are not currently closing...Clippard has been a solid setup man through out his career; but hasn't been as good as a closer

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 16:48)

Queezy feeling about Clippard. I don't know. If the cost is relatively cheap, maybe, but like yog said, there are some legit concerns.

@  yogib8 : (27 Jul 2015 - 15:23)

Clippard is a soon to be FA, the concern would be in resigning him. But we are looking a player who BB/9 is up a full 2 and the K/9 has dropped almost 2. One other concern is the BAbip of 2.14 which is down from 2.55 last season. Good pitchers would have low number, but that 2.14 could be a warning of a coming adjustment.

@  dhood8083 : (27 Jul 2015 - 14:38)

Are you have Pedro Feliciano qualms?

@  yogib8 : (27 Jul 2015 - 14:16)

I can understand following the KC model, with a deep BP, especially if there is a need to limit IP on the SP arms. But be afraid...or very afraid, Continuous Clippard comes with 436 G (72 G) and 492 IP (82) over the past 6 seasons.

@  METS FANG : (27 Jul 2015 - 12:54)

was just talking about this - why get him? BP is a strength - even with Familia's pair of BSs since AS break - why give up pieces for a closer?

@  METS FANG : (27 Jul 2015 - 12:53)

why

@  dhood8083 : (27 Jul 2015 - 12:50)

Mets close to getting Clippard...

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 11:10)

I figured that you were just testing us...my mom used to do that, she'd be half-watching a baseball game and report to any male within listening range that they just scored a field goal (to bust chops, she knew what was really going on)

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 11:09)

lol

@  kellsbells : (27 Jul 2015 - 09:56)

sorry, I meant Colorado

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 08:41)

Desmond on a short deal would also allow Cecchini and/or Rosario to develop into the longer term solution. (assuming neither/both are traded before then)

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 08:32)

Desmond had a rough beginning of the season, but is better than his stats suggest...and he's not going to get the huge contract offers that he originally expected; so he might be into a short term deal to build up his chances for a bigger contract following the 2016 season instead

@  Saxon : (27 Jul 2015 - 08:30)

Colorado numbers, but same difference...I understand what you meant...Personally if we are going elsewhere for a shortstop, I think that I would buy low on Ian Desmond in the offseason over trading large for Tulo

@  kellsbells : (27 Jul 2015 - 08:28)

Tulo would be a bust, just like every other hitter who has come here. His Arizona numbers wouldn't be the same at Citi field, and you'd all be calling him a failure.

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 07:34)

SMH. Do you have to make EVERYTHING into a Tulo discussion?

@  METSFRONTOFFICE : (27 Jul 2015 - 06:42)

Semblance of offense, well then, add an offensive player who is an impact guy . Gomez-Tulo- or even Cargo although I think I would rather a right handed bat.

@  brian stark : (27 Jul 2015 - 04:49)

That's a great stat from Vaccaro, if we can just get some semblence of an offense, with the schedule remaining, we could really be in for a fun couple of months.

Of the 63 games the Mets have left to play the remainder of the season, only 15 are against teams above .500 (12 are at home), via @MikeVacc

@  Drucifer : (26 Jul 2015 - 17:22)

Yeah, that DC lost is the difference between a stick in your face important 10-game series and they made it thru it.

@  Drucifer : (26 Jul 2015 - 17:20)

;bxup;

@  abat : (26 Jul 2015 - 16:50)

Great game despite the blown save

@  Jambo : (26 Jul 2015 - 16:27)

Enjoyed that ,let's go Mets

@  yogib8 : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:43)

That loss in DC is the one that hurts, up 4-1 in the 8th

@  yogib8 : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:41)

Is Alderson brilliant...lucky...or over due?

@  brian stark : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:39)

So, in the season defining ten game stretch, we went 4-6. Still only two games out. Not great, but not buried either.

@  brian stark : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:38)

NICE.

@  Drucifer : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:37)

;bk; great trade

@  brian stark : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:33)

Uribe is known for being clutch, hope is proves it today...

@  brian stark : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:32)

Agreed, yog on the teaching moment, play aggressive and force the D to make a play.

@  yogib8 : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:32)

All things being equal wins will get it? Duh? Weren't we taking about deG losing 4 wins?

@  brian stark : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:32)

TERRIBLE bunt from Teada there. Granderson had no shot at a move.

@  yogib8 : (26 Jul 2015 - 15:30)

Gotta love the hustle that's a teaching moment
