@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 16:16)

You could see that coming, Lackey was out of his mind and GROOVED a fastball that Baez could extend on.

@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 16:06)

The Cards/Cubs game is a perfect demonstration of what we both NEED and CAN'T have happen. We NEED to keep it close and if at all possible get/stay ahead. We CAN'T fall behind really early, I have a feeling that if Kershaw gets the whiff of a potential win, he will be unbeatable. If we can hold them down (which I think is possible, that lineup does not strike fear into your heart), and let Matz settle in and get past the adrenaline, we have a REALLY good shot. I'm terrified of our pen right now, though...

@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 16:04)

A friend of mine said he tried to get tickets to last night's game, he has a few connections (or so he thought). NOTHING available, and the secondary market had even the cheapest seats at over 750 bucks for standing room tickets by the start of the game...

@  thomasam : (13 Oct 2015 - 16:00)

Last night was fun at home but it had to be INSANE there

@  thomasam : (13 Oct 2015 - 16:00)

I am regretting not being all over the computer when those tickets went on sale to ticket package holders a few weeks ago

@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 15:53)

Wind apears to be blowing out, but not the gale it was last night...

@  METS FANG : (13 Oct 2015 - 15:50)

what a HR fest that was yesterday!!

@  METS FANG : (13 Oct 2015 - 15:50)

wind still blowing out?

@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 15:41)

Piscotty and the Cards make a VERY early statement with the two-run blast. That would be good for me in my Legacy League, since I picked him up as a long-term keeper. Playoffs don't count, of course...

@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 15:18)

Ces looked on point last night, d'A had great at bats, Granderson had another solid outing. Lucas was flailing a bit, and Wright looked somewhat out of sorts, but overall the lineup is playing with confidence. They are going to need it.

Thanks Drucifer. Looks like Collins sees the value in defense as well.

We are in the driver's seat!!

@  steve : (13 Oct 2015 - 12:41)

West Coast..You Gotta Believe!!!!!!!!!

@  West Coast M... : (13 Oct 2015 - 12:17)

Does anyone know where you can get the audio of Mutley's introduction last night. MLB.tv replay starts after the introductions.

@  West Coast M... : (13 Oct 2015 - 11:59)

We need Matz to pitch the game of his life tonight.

@  West Coast M... : (13 Oct 2015 - 11:58)

Kershaw did not have his best stuff on Friday, can we expect more of the same on short rest?

@  West Coast M... : (13 Oct 2015 - 11:57)

A good sign is Td'A's bat coming to life last night. That will go a long way in helping to beat Kershaw if he puts up similar at bats tonight.

@  West Coast M... : (13 Oct 2015 - 11:55)

Cuddyer looks done, both on the field and at the plate. As CMF said lets put the best defense as possible out there, that would mean the same lineup as last night

@  Canada Mets Fan : (13 Oct 2015 - 11:40)

If they are asking the kid to start against Kershaw, Collins has to give him the best defense. And I don't think Cuddyer's bat at this stage outweighs his poor fielding.

@  METS FANG : (13 Oct 2015 - 10:38)

Did Cuddy start in game 1 against him ? I am thinking we may see a similair line up as game 1.

He did, but how did that go for him? Two horrific OF plays and 0-3 at the plate. "Those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it."

@  METSFRONTOFFICE : (13 Oct 2015 - 10:26)

Nobody said Duda wasn't a better firstbaseman, the question is who do you play against the best left handed pitcher in baseball? Did Cuddy start in game 1 against him ? I am thinking we may see a similair line up as game 1.

@  METS FANG : (13 Oct 2015 - 10:21)

I agree - I think Duda is the better defensive first baseman, and duda is more likely to "run into one" against a pitcher that is hard to manufacture runs off of due to low hit totals.

@  West Coast M... : (13 Oct 2015 - 09:07)

I agree CMF, I believe he goes with the same lineup as last night. Duda at 1b, Ces in LF and Lagares in CF

@  Canada Mets Fan : (13 Oct 2015 - 07:41)

This is a pretty cool article. http://www.newsday.c...ool-1.10942420

@  Canada Mets Fan : (13 Oct 2015 - 07:26)

MFO, Collins CANNOT start Cuddyer in LF. He just can't.

@  METSFRONTOFFICE : (13 Oct 2015 - 07:17)

Nothing is ever sure. I like our chances, If people don't think a crowd can get a team up they are wrong, the Mets fans at Citi are out of there minds. Kershaw will not even be able to hear himself think tonight. Now who is in and who is out ? Duda starting or is Cuddy playing first or is Cuddy playing OF with Cespedes in CF>

@  brian stark : (13 Oct 2015 - 06:34)

No time to get cocky. We still have to win another game, and it is not going to be easy.Kershaw is a great pitcher, and we don't know what to expect from Matz. Plus, the pen is at best shaky. Nothing is sure yet.

are not entitled to judge Chase Utley. http://bit.ly/1OylygD

PROGRAMMING ALERT - I'm not sure about the NY market, but here, the Cubs game is playing on TBS. The Mets game is switching to TNT until the Cubs game is finished.

no utley in dodgers starting lineup. bit surprising, as terry collins said. has .333 lifetime average (6 for 18) vs. harvey

@  Canada Mets Fan : (12 Oct 2015 - 15:17)

Of course. The good old boys network is alive and well.

@  yogib8 : (12 Oct 2015 - 14:48)

Such bullshit that they couldnt hear the appeal today. MLB intentionally dragging their asses on this so they can say they did what was right to protect the players without actually penalizing anyone in the playoffs?

Is Joe Torre the same Joe Torre that managed the Dodgers and mentored Mattingly?

@  Canada Mets Fan : (12 Oct 2015 - 14:26)

And the fact that for this 'slide', Utley goes down on his knees past the bag. His knees are the first part of his body to make contact with the ground. No way that can even be talked about as a slide. It's a tackle/body roll.
