@  Canada Mets Fan : (28 Jun 2016 - 13:12)

I am concerned, very concerned. There's no consistency to be found on either side of the ball right now. Even the SP has started to waver and without that, this team is in a lot of trouble. However, I was also concerned last year and the deadline deals pulled a rabbit out of the hat. This year I don't see that happening. Outside of the SP, what do we have that other teams would want? There's not much in the minors to get excited about. And for argument's sake, if we traded a starter, would that actual help??

@  yogib8 : (28 Jun 2016 - 12:43)

Is it time to be concerned? Mets off a 2-5 record against the Braves and the pitching is up and down. Harvey and deG opened with reduced velocity Harvey is still in the weeds and has lacked consistency while deG is zero for May and June is getting <3 run support. Syndy and Matz opened like a CY battle to the end until Matz derailed and now may be headed for the DL and surgery and Syndy was a deer in the head lights last night while the Nats exposed and embarrassed him. Even Wheeler's rehab of 15 months was set back last week when he felt pain in the elbow. He has resumed long throw since, but as of yet hasn't stepped on a mound. Right now the only player above criticism is Cabrera who has been far and away the most consistent player in Blue and Orange.

It was one of those games that makes me question why I'm a Mets fan. Then, I look at the schedule and wait for today's lineups to be posted and mentally prepare for this crap all over again. *sigh*

@  Saxon : (28 Jun 2016 - 02:07)

it was one of those games that make me question why I waste time being a sports fan

@  abat : (28 Jun 2016 - 01:52)

Well that was a lop-sided result to get up to this morning

@  Drucifer : (28 Jun 2016 - 01:41)

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:57)

So same outcome

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:57)

Plus then Granderson grounded out. I'm not saying that if Syndergaard struck out and it was 1st and 3rd he'd do the same thing, but if he does hit the grounder there it's a double play

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:56)

At that point everything is going right, it's not a great play but it's not terrible

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:55)

I thought that was at 4-0 but sometimes I lose track of the chronology

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:54)

When the bunt happened, what was the score?

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:50)

it's called momentum...we had it, and TC/Teufel pissed it away

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:50)

that bunt caused the implosion

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:49)

I'm not debating when he should have pulled Thor...my complaints are about the mismanagement of the offense by TC and Teufel

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:48)

All they did was constantly complain about him...but then almost all fans just constantly complain about managers

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:48)

Maybe Dusty gets it, but every Reds fan and Cubs fan hates him

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:47)

So should a manager pull an ace after 2 runs in the 3rd? 3 runs?

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:42)

the Nats this season vs last season is a good example of a bad manager vs a good manager...Dusty gets it, Williams didn't

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:42)

well, at least Terry found a way to get the Nats out of their funk

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:40)

@ Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:13) Posted Image Posted Image
I hope the Nats score 10 runs in the next inning now because that absolutely pissed me off

I was frustrated and being metaphorical, I didn't expect it to happen

@  mjjm367 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:39)

More :fbomb: "Terry is stupid" bullshit again. This is so tiresome. :fbomb: it, I'm out.

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:38)

Night guys...no hard feelings

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:36)

Turn out the lights the parties over, they say all things must end but come tomorrow we'll start all over again.

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:36)

Otherwise if you start pulling a top pitcher in the third inning after 3 runs, when do you let anyone work through it?

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:35)

I am late to this argument about who's fault this is, but if you have an ace that's been awesome all season I think you give him plenty of rope

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:31)

Car wrecks are why Nascar draws 100,000

@  thomasam : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:31)

Well then, this went from a great "the offense is finally coming around" to complete disaster quicklky

@  Canada Mets Fan : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:30)

I can't watch this car wreck.

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:29)

No we lose because Alderson built a bad team

@  brian stark : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:27)

OK, yogi, I've been convinced. Terry is John :fbomb: McGraw, Casey Stengel, and Whitey Herzog all in one. He has never made a mistake, and the only reason we lose games is because of everyone else in the universe.

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:25)

You're right TC should have had Goeddel up before Ross singled

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:24)

1st and 3rd and a runner on 3rd that isn't clueless, worst case..... runner on 1st and 3rd with the runner going to second cut down. Best Case 1 runner scores runners 1st and 2nd. BC 2 Bases loaded. BC 3 runner 2nd and 3rd for Granderson.

@  brian stark : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:23)

Ugh. this game is an absolute nightmare.

@  brian stark : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:21)

And again, Terry is JUST NOW getting Goeddel up.

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:18)

if anything, the only time that that move is even slightly justifiable is when it's a 0-0 pitchers duel and you are facing a top notch pitcher that doesn't field his position reasonably well

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:16)

did it work? no...it blew up in our faces...like I knew it would...this isn't the 60's, those dinosaur moves died a long time ago for a good reason...unfortunately, we have a dinosaur as manager and a dinosaur as a GM

Seems to me that TC isn't the problem, but the baseball acuity of some fans

@  brian stark : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:13)

A good manager does not put his players in situations where the chance of failure is high. A good manager tries to put his players in situations where they have a better chance of success. IMO, anyway.

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:13)

Seems to me that TC isn't the problem, but the baseball acuity of some fans

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:11)

and it's not even a "pitcher up" it's one of the best hitting pitchers in the majors...would Bochy bunt Bummgardener there? :fbomb: no

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:11)

you are still missing the point with your hatred of Flores...who the :fbomb: would call for a bunt in that situation with Thor at bat? even the MASN announcers were joking saying that THOR was telling Teufel "I am not bunting here dude"

@  brian stark : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:10)

But, that's just my opinion.

@  brian stark : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:10)

A clue would be "Hmm, my runner at third base is slow. The pitcher is up. It might not be a wise move to put a squeeze on, suicide or safety.

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:10)

Runners on 1st and 3rd, a bunt wasn't exactly the Manhattan Prog.

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:09)

The Marlins clearly have a better offense and a better defense than the Mets...and their manager isn't probably as clueless either

@  Saxon : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:08)

Terry shows just about every week anymore, that regardless of our starting pitching, closer and Cespedes; we are the 3rd best team in our own division...if only due to the manager being a numbskull...

@  yogib8 : (27 Jun 2016 - 20:06)

The word safety is key, if Flores doesn't know when to backtrack that's on Flores. A bunt directly to the SP would be a clue
