@  steve : (30 Nov 2015 - 15:24)

Is anyone here worried about the Giants? I cant believe they lost to a lousy team the Redskins

@  Canada Mets Fan : (30 Nov 2015 - 13:25)

I agree, solid episode. I would've left Ron and Morgan to the walkers. I didn't see any previews for the rest of the season, I couldn't sit through The Badlands.

@  brian stark : (30 Nov 2015 - 07:27)

Yeah, I made it through. Tons of leftovers, we'll not have to cook this week. Great fun, though. As for the episode, I thought it was solid. I expected a couple more residents to go down, but all in all it was solid. Morgan pisses me off, though, and I was disappointed that the Wolf only went out the door and did not go out bloodier. Sam? Should have left his retarded ass on the second floor. SHUT THE HELL UP, KID, CAN'T YOU SEE WE'RE SURROUNDED BY WALKERS???

@  Drucifer : (30 Nov 2015 - 04:36)

@  Canada Mets Fan : (29 Nov 2015 - 20:56)

brian, this could be a good episode. Survive the party?

@  Canada Mets Fan : (29 Nov 2015 - 13:31)

I agree with you on the heat. if at all possible when we retire, my wife and I plan to be snowbirds. Of course, that's 25 years away and only if the Canada dollar ever rises out of the toilet.

@  METS FANG : (29 Nov 2015 - 12:14)

I'm going to come out and say it. I like "MEGO" and may steal that to intentionally use at some point

@  mjjm367 : (29 Nov 2015 - 10:43)

It certainly does get hot down here, but everything is very well A/C. But, I don't miss the cold at all. Took a little getting used to, but really wasn't that herd to adapt.

@  Canada Mets Fan : (29 Nov 2015 - 08:28)

Central Canada and the Prairies experience extreme temperature swings from hot summers to frigid winters. My brother also works in the oil industry and has been all over the world and has been to Houston many times, and spent some chunks of time in College Station. He's not used to the Texas heat!

@  Canada Mets Fan : (29 Nov 2015 - 08:26)

Our climate is typically classified as a temperate marine climate, no extremes either way. The average summer temp is about 61 and the average winter temp is about 32. We do tend get a lot of wind and fog, but no smog.

@  Canada Mets Fan : (29 Nov 2015 - 08:14)

mjjm, I'm in eastern Canada, as far east as you can get before stepping into the Atlantic. The most easterly point in North America.

@  mjjm367 : (28 Nov 2015 - 20:34)

I meant kick to the ego, not mego. I misplaced my mego last week. If you find it, please send it home.

@  mjjm367 : (28 Nov 2015 - 20:33)

Well that's a kick to the mego. The current ad says "1 person thinks you're cute". Just freakin" one?????? Thanks a damn lot. And you want to bet if I click on the damn ad, the one person will be blind?

@  mjjm367 : (28 Nov 2015 - 20:14)

Canada MF, just curious, I know that you are in western Canada, but what province? And what general area? Canadian provinces are huge, and I am curious as to how severe your weather gets. One of my brothers worked on the pipelines in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, and he saw insanely cold weather.

@  Canada Mets Fan : (28 Nov 2015 - 19:59)

Intermittent snow flurries my way Dru. Certainly not cookout weather here.

@  Drucifer : (28 Nov 2015 - 15:56)

Too cold here for any cook out.

@  Drucifer : (28 Nov 2015 - 15:54)

We do Pride and Joy, Crossfire, and Texas Flood. Our lead guitarist is amazing...

@  Canada Mets Fan : (28 Nov 2015 - 13:00)

That's a solid list. Life by the Drop is one of my favorites.

@  mjjm367 : (28 Nov 2015 - 12:14)

Acoustic SRV!!!!! Cool!

@  brian stark : (28 Nov 2015 - 12:10)

My acoustic trio is playing. Mostly Beatles, Zeppelin, Stones, Eagles, CSN(Y), Allman Brothers, Clapton, SRV, Skynyd, etc...

@  Canada Mets Fan : (28 Nov 2015 - 10:13)

Music too!! what's on the set list?

@  brian stark : (28 Nov 2015 - 09:50)

Yep, guests are expected to start arriving around 3, the full bunch after the ECU game ends (around 5), with food served around 6. I expect total destruction to be over by 7, with music and smores commencing shortly after!

@  Canada Mets Fan : (28 Nov 2015 - 09:42)

Sounds like an all day party, the best type.

@  brian stark : (28 Nov 2015 - 09:37)

Well, it's supposed to be sunny and low 70's all through the day, cooling down to the low 50's tonight (right on time for the firepit, smores and roasted marsmallows). Perfect cookout weather...

@  Canada Mets Fan : (28 Nov 2015 - 09:30)

brian, you know how to do up a cook out!! I hope the weather cooperates for you.

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 20:38)

You know it. Probably several different kinds. And wines, too...

@  Canada Mets Fan : (27 Nov 2015 - 18:44)

An all-out assault on the colon. Sounds delicious. I take it there will be beer?

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 18:31)

Desserts, wine and beer, ice, and other drinks are supplied by the other guests. Maybe a side or two, as well.

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 18:30)

Also, making 10 pounds of my famous potato salad, my wife is making a huge batch of green bean cassarole (she has some secrects that make it better than any GBC you have ever had). Plus about three dozen deviled eggs (again, she makes it special, best deviled eggs you have ever had). It will be a feast for the ages.

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 18:27)

As for the cookout, I'm doing: Three 3 pound pork tenderloins marinated in my secret NC BBQ sauce, four pounds of fresh sausage (made by a farmer/butcher who lives around here), thirty jumbo chicken drumsticks marinated in my ginger/soy sauce, thirty chicken wings marinated in my tomato based chipotle sauce (grew the jalapenos and smoked them myself), ) burgers, dogs, brats, italian sausage, and kielbasa (I made the kielbasa myself, using my grandfathers recipe and the grinder I inherited from him). Then, the piece de resistance, a Tulsa Tornado. Weave eighteen backon striips (nine one way, nine the other), get two pounds of breakfast sausage (ground like hamburger) and spread it out in a flat square on the bacon, take another long smoked kielbasa link and put it at one end of the square. Then, sushi style, roll up the bacon/sausage over the kielbasa. After the first roll, place cheddar cheese slices and spread them on the ground sausage. Lay out a layer of red hots (a southern delicasy) and complete the roll. Wrap in aluminum foil and refrigerate for a couple of hours so that the whole concoction binds well. Grill at 325 for about two/three hours, until internal temp is about 165-170. Making two of those.

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 18:17)

wii games were going to 10 bucks a pop at the Wally World I was at.

@  Canada Mets Fan : (27 Nov 2015 - 17:23)

brian, what do you serve at the big cookout? If you don't mind me asking.

@  Canada Mets Fan : (27 Nov 2015 - 17:21)

$348??? Sounds like a steal. I should have asked you to pick up some wii u games for my son and mail up to me!!

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 13:28)

The King is a BEAST. Henrik the Great Stonewall.

@  brian stark : (27 Nov 2015 - 13:14)

I actually had to go to Wal Mart for some stuff for the big cookout I'm having tomorrow. I usually stay away from the Black Friday madness, and dreaded the trip. Got there, and surprisingly, there were no more folks there than on a normal Friday. Tons of stuff still on the shelf. I ended up getting a 55" tv for $348, and several PS4 games for 10 bucks each. Shocked. Absolutely shocked.

@  mjjm367 : (27 Nov 2015 - 10:03)

Would not brave the Black Friday nonsense for free stuff. Taking my niece to the Houston Zoo for her birthday, like we do every year.

@  Canada Mets Fan : (27 Nov 2015 - 09:04)

Happy post Thanksgiving to the US forum members. Lots of turkey hangovers? Anyone braving the Black Friday madness??

@  Drucifer : (26 Nov 2015 - 14:53)

My day has already been ruin by a political event. So I wont go into details, except to say it disgust me.

100 days means snow season is over and I have to pack my snowboard back into storage - not ready for that yet as I haven't even made the switch with the golf clubs yet

@  Drucifer : (25 Nov 2015 - 14:06)

Hey when your my age, a 100 days is extremely fast. As it about the same time period as my routine lab work.

@  Drucifer : (25 Nov 2015 - 14:03)

I see a few bench players switched teams since I last checked. I wonder if MFO thinks the ;mets; should have been involved in any of those move instead. As he's a firm believer in that the team must always be doing something in order to prove to fans they're working.

@  Drucifer : (25 Nov 2015 - 13:56)

@  Drucifer : (25 Nov 2015 - 03:12)

@  METS FANG : (24 Nov 2015 - 18:48)

that sounds closer than it is

@  brian stark : (24 Nov 2015 - 18:28)

Less than 100 days until the first game!
