I’m very psyched for tomorrow. Tomorrow I will be going to the Met game. Tomorrow I will be attending Mets batting practice. Tomorrow I will be attending Mets batting practice on the field. How you ask? I will explain.
About a year ago, my mother’s friend Mak Steinbok was diagnosed with liver cancer. After waiting several months on a waiting list she got a liver to be able to get a liver transplant. Unfortunately on the day when she was scheduled to have the surgery there was a huge snow storm and made it difficult for her to get from her house in Atlantic Beach to Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. She amazingly, got a police escort to get to the hospital. You can read more about that story here and here. Being this was one of Montefiore’s first liver transplants it received a lot of press. She repeatedly mentioned that she wanted to get healthy quickly, so she can go to Opening Day(which she was and is doing great). Around that time my mother thought of a fantastic idea, call the Mets to tell them the story about her friend Mak. Moments later, my mother received a phone call from Mets media manager Ethan Wilson and told her that Mak, my mother, the police escorts, and family can attend batting practice on the field and be the Mets guests. Subsequently, the Mets gave the crew approximately 36 tickets in Section 121. My mother found out about two weeks ago that her friend Mak will not only be attending BP on the field but she will also throw out the first pitch. That’s how I will be attending BP on the field tomorrow, which I am very psyched for.
I will posting pictures and live tweet blogging on my twitter account @metsflu. If you are attending the game, I would love to meet you, I will be sitting in Section 121 Row 30, wearing a blue Wright shirt.
