Scouting Report:

METS: Dickey again pitched well enough to win at Citi Field, but left with a loss. Against San Diego, he allowed three earned runs in six frames, but was foiled by two unearned runs and a faulty 'pen that kept him on the hook. His last home win was June 5.

 

PADRES: Harang was staked to a 5-0 lead after three innings in his last start against the Mets, but left with two outs in the sixth inning after allowing three runs. Now, he will get another crack at the Mets, this time at PETCO Park.

  • Josh Thole – Had a career-high four hits last night… It was Thole’s second four-hit game of his career… He also accomplished the feat on September 13, 2009 in the first game of a doubleheader vs. Philadelphia… The Mets catcher is hitting .325 (41-126) over his last 42 games, dating back to May 25.

  • Matt Harvey – the Mets first-round pick from the 2010 First-Year Player draft, picked up his second straight win with Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League last night… Harvey tossed 5.0 innings, allowed six hits, three runs, earned at Trenton…He did not walk a batter and fanned six… Harvey has 48 strikeouts in 39.2 innings of work with the BMets.
