  • Ike Davis – Played catch, hit off a tee and took 20 grounders at first yesterday at the Mets’ Port St. Lucie complex… He is expected to do the same today… Davis was placed on the Disabled List on May 11 with a left ankle sprain and bone bruise.

  • Arizona Fall League – The Mets will send eight players to the Arizona Fall League this winter to play for Peoria under manager Pedro Lopez, who is currently St. Lucie’s manager… Second baseman Reese Havens, catcher Juan Centeno, third baseman Jefry Marte, and pitchers Taylor Whitenton, Collin McHugh, Robert Carson and Brandon Moore will represent the organization for Peoria, while outfielder Juan Lagares will be on the taxi squad.

  • Series History  – The Mets are 2-4 vs. the Marlins at Citi Field this year won their 150th career game vs. the Marlins with the victory in the second game of yesterday’s doubleheader… The Mets are 10-14 all-time vs. Florida at Citi Field.
  • Home -The Mets will play 12 of their next 18 games at Citi Field… The Mets are 3-0 during this six-game homestand… New York has a winning record on one homestand (minimum four games) this year (April 19-24, when they went 4-2)…Overall, the Mets are 28-34 at home this season, including going 9-13 after the All-Star break… New York’s three-game home winning streak is the longest since they won three straight at home from May 5-7… The Mets won a season-high four consecutive home games from April 21-24.
  • Vs. Florida – The Mets snapped their six-game home losing streak to the Marlins with yesterday’s doubleheader sweep…It was the first time in team history that the Mets had swept a twinbill from Florida.
  • Doubleheader – The Mets allowed one run in each game of yesterday’s doubleheader… It marked only the third time in the last 39 seasons that the Mets won two games on the same day, allowing no more than one run in either victory… The other occasions were both against the Braves at Shea (September 6, 2006 and July 22, 1988)… The last time the Mets swept a doubleheader was April 27, 2010 vs. the Dodgers at Citi Field.
  • Offensive – New York ranks second in the NL and seventh in the majors with a .266 batting average… The Mets rank second in the NL and fourth in the majors with a .336 on-base percentage… The Mets are fifth in the majors with 254 doubles, fourth with 463 walks and rank ninth with a .265 batting average with runners in scoring position … The Mets lead the majors with 1,026 runners left on base.
  • Angel Pagan – Has reached base safely in 21 of the 23 games he’s played this month, including collecting at least one hit in 19 of those contests… He is batting .343 (34-99) with 15 runs scored, eight doubles, three home runs and nine RBI this month… Pagan is eighth in the NL with his .343 August batting average.
  • Lucas Duda – Is 12-30 (.400) with nine RBI over his last eight games… Duda is batting .339 (42-124) since the All-Star break, ranking third in the NL… His .417 on-base percentage since the break is third in the NL and he has 26 RBI during that same span, tied for 14th in the NL… Duda’s seven second-half home runs lead the team.
  • Ruben Tejada – Has hit .364 (24-66) with seven doubles and five RBI since he was recalled from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League on August 8… His .364 mark is the fifth-highest in the National League since August 8.
  • Nick Evans – Has hit in five straight games, going 10-19 (.526) with three doubles, one triple, one home run and five RBI.
  • Bullpen – Tossed 5.0 innings of one-run ball over both games of the doubleheader, and in the team’s last four games, Mets relievers have compiled a 1.50 ERA (two earned runs/12.0 innings pitched), two saves and three holds… They have struck out 15 and walked three in this stretch… The bullpen has surrendered at least one run in 28 of its last 35 games, posting a 5.05 ERA (57 earned runs/101.2 innings) dating back to July 20… Overall, the pen ranks 29th in the majors with a 4.29 ERA.
  • Starters – Over their last four games, Mets starters are 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA (four earned runs/28.0 innings)… They have issued five walks and notched 27 strikeouts while holding the opposition to a .129 batting average against… New York starters had a 25.1 scoreless inning streak from August 24 through the sixth inning of last night’s second game… During New York’s five-game losing streak from August 19-23, Mets starters went 0-3 with a 9.24 ERA (26 earned runs/25.1 innings).
  • Dillon Gee – Became the first rookie since Ron Darling (12 wins) and Dwight Gooden (17 wins) in 1984 to win 12 or more games with his victory last night… Gee is second in the majors among rookies with 12 wins, is first among NL rookies with 133.2 innings, fourth with 91 strikeouts and a .232 opponents batting average against and seventh with a 4.24 ERA.
  • Mike Pelfrey – In his last start, earned the win in a 7-4 victory at Philadelphia on August 24… Threw 6.0 innings and allowed three runs, earned… Also allowed nine hits and two walks… Recorded two strikeouts and threw a career-high 125 pitches, 76 for strikes… For the fifth-straight start, and sixth-straight appearance, Pelfrey did not allow a home run… The five straight starts without a homerun is his longest stretch of the season, his career-long is 10 starts…. Pelfrey is 4-6 over his last 15 starts, with a 3.77 ERA (36 earned/86.0 innings)… Over those 15, he has allowed 96 hits, 27 walks, nine home runs and has recorded 50 strikeouts in 92.0 innings… 10 of those 15 starts have come on the road where he has a career ERA of 5.32… Pelfrey has pitched at least 6.0 innings and allowed two runs or less in seven of the 15… Eight of Pelfrey’s 13 quality starts have been earned within the stretch… Pelfrey has also tossed two complete games over the run.
  • Darin Gorski – St. Lucie LHP, who is 11-3 with a 2.15 ERA with 136 strikeouts, was named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Year.
  • Cam Maron – Kingsport catcher, who is hitting .309 with 23 RBI, was named to the Appalachian League postseason All-Star team.
  • Josh Satin – Infielder, who is hitting .322 with 42 doubles, 12 home runs and 76 RBI between Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League and Buffalo (AAA) of the International League was named to the Eastern League postseason All-Star team…
  • Ryan Ellis – Savannah Manager and coach Glenn Abbott were named to the South Atlantic League postseason All-Star team.
