instead of delaying the season each time that they have the WBC; maybe they should do it at the all star break instead....how many players get hurt in the WBC because they aren't ready to compete yet...the A/S break already is 4 days long; what's a few more days...and with so many young pitchers, or pitchers returning for TJ surgery; they could get a couple weeks to reset their arms for September/October

Mets farmhands Champ Stuart and Blake Taylor are scheduled to represent Great Britain, and Ty Kelly, Tyler Herron and Josh Zeid are due to represent Israel in a World Baseball Classic qualifier in Brooklyn from Sept. 22-25. Ex-Mets Ike Davis and Josh Satin also are scheduled to compete for Israel.

I really don't get how the WBC decides what team a player competes for...

let's see, I ate pizza last night so I'm going with Italy;

Sushi a few days ago, so maybe Japan;

ate an English muffin, lets go with the UK;

French bread, I'm joining France;

I like Beer, so how about Germany;

ate at the Outback, Australia's my team;

ate a bagel, Israel
