Read an interesting clip that said the NFL has issued a warning to all players to be careful eating meat when traveling abroad (China and Mexico specifically).  They are saying the steroids in meat from China and Mexico could potentially cause false positives...

that is an interesting point...

how much chicken, beef and even fruits/veggies have some sort of growth hormone to make a product that is more attractive to shoppers, and quicker/cheaper to grow...if you look at a Perdue chicken vs a traditional chicken, there is no doubt which one is bigger and looks more attractive...a lot of milk comes from cows that have been consuming growth hormone...and the organic version of carrots look weak compared to other carrots...

when people eat/drink these items, are they consuming some of these hormones?

The recent suspensions of Gordon and Colabello have once again surfaced the issue of what penalties are stiff enough to stop illegal PED use. I think several penalties should be put in place:

. . . .

But are all PEDs illegal in all countries where baseball players play? Or are some PEDs mixed into some OTC drugs in some countries? And are all the ingredients of OTC drugs listed on the side of their boxes?

What is available in the DR or Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela  shouldn't matter.  Every player from rookie ball on is schooled on PEDs and what to do if in doubt.   That message is delivered every year, these players also have agents whose interest is to keep their cash cows on the field.

All of these countries are cosmopolitan enough to have the same OTC products available as CVS and Rite-Aid.

Enough is enough...no excuses.

It is my  understanding the the MLB has an approved list of supplements and if you want to take something that is not on the list a player can than can ask to have it tested. Time that these players take responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming everyone else.
