You would be getting 3 years of Realmuto for 6 years of Rosario, or 4 years of Conforto.

Marlins will expect a ridiculous price.  One I'm not sure I would be willing to pay.

sorry for bringing this into the conversation...but, it just fits into this Realmuto discussion...especially if Jeter tries to get us to overpay, whereas he basically gave the team away for free already...and then gets insulted, and goes apeshit for saying that he's purposely "tanking":

CEO Derek Jeter expects Miami Marlins to compete, contend
ESPN

Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter refuses to believe that he and the team's new ownership group are approaching this season with a tanking mentality.

Jeter, in an interview for HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" that airs Tuesday, was asked whether the team had that mindset after trading away its best players in the offseason.

"Tanking? What is ... tanking?" Jeter said.

When Gumbel defined tanking as "not trying your hardest to win ballgames in ... every day."

Jeter, who smiled throughout the exchange, went on the offensive.

"We're trying to win ballgames every day," Jeter said of the Marlins, who are off to a 5-15 start after trading away stars Giancarlo StantonChristian YelichMarcell Ozuna and Dee Gordon during the offseason. "When you take the field, you have an opportunity to win each and every day. Each and every day.

"You never tell your team that they're expected to lose. Never."

As Bryant tried to interject, Jeter continued.

"Now, you can think ... now, I can't tell how you think," Jeter said. "Like, I see your mind. I see that's how you think. I don't think like that. That's your mind working like that. ... You don't get it.

"You don't. We have two different mi- ... I can't wait to get you on the golf course, man. We got ... I mean, I can't wait for this one. ... You're mentally weak."

During the back and forth, as Gumble tried to ask Jeter whether he really expects the Marlins to contend "as presently configured," Jeter used a different word.

"I expect this team to compete. To compete every sing- ... you'd never tell your players that you are expected to lose. You don't do that. You should take that as a slap in the face as a player. You should take that as a slap in the face."

Jeter, who said he's "enjoying what he's doing" with the Marlins, was asked again if he expects the Marlins to contend.

"I do. I do," Jeter said. "If I don't believe with the ... in the players that we have on the field, who's going to believe in them?"

Gumbel then told Jeter that "it looks like you're delusional if you believe otherwise."

Said Jeter: "Well, call me delusional."

I guess now we know why Jeter never talked to the media when he was a player...he's a hot head that refuses to accept the truth...

This makes Arod look intelligent/reasonable by comparison...

Yes, the Marlins are tanking.  And the press are being total jackasses about it.  Hell, the Cubs and the Astros did it.  Multiple teams are doing it this year.  So :fbomb: what.  Until MLB does something about it, it's a strategy.  Used by many.  So does the reporter get a bonus point if he can get Jeter to say it?  No other organization will say "tanking".  Or does the reporter get two bonus points for making it an issue about Jeter not saying it?  : ::ahole:::. - (meaning the reporter)

Disclaimer - Don't particularly care about Jeter one way or the other.  Wanted him to go 0 for all ABs vs. the Mets, didn't care when we weren't playing them.

I just have always hated how the media and yankee fans always loved to stroke Jeter's ego...as if he were the reason for the Yankees success...he was part of a $100 Million infield on a $200 Mil team, that had the cash flow and ego to just bring in more money/talent if the guys weren't winning...I remember the audacity of Harold Reynolds simple mind calling Jeter the greatest shortstop in history because of all his World Series rings... Jeter is one of the few players that perturb me as much as Chase Utley and John Rocker

My list also includes Utley - unnecessarily dirty, and Rocker - bigoted jerk.

The two that immediately come to mind are -

Gary Sheffield - admitted to deliberately making errors in games to try to force a trade.

Ryan Braun - falsely blaming the specimen collector for his positive test, including calling the man (who was just doing his job) anti-Semitic.  Caused an innocent man to go through hell.  If he handed me his autographed jersey, I would drop it and spit on it.

Hated Captain Mediocre as a player.

Love him as an owner. Turned the Marlins into a non competitive embarrassment and 19 wins for the Mets and the rest of the division.

That reporter should have shut off his mike and walked away from the blowhard

the mets traded a spare part for a "starting" catcher

only in the Mets stratosphere would he be considered a "starting" catcher...

hopefully he can  at least temporarily remember his 2014 form, but he hasn't been a starting catcher in close to 4 years...
